The device

Keeper tells time and wakes you up. The only other thing it does is glow — a small amber light that turns on when someone you've chosen is trying to reach you. Turn the knob to set an alarm. That's the whole manual.

How the glow works

You decide who gets through.

During setup, you pick a short list — a spouse, your kids' school, whoever's on call. Calls and texts from that list light Keeper up and, if you choose, sound a distinct tone. Everything else stays on your phone, in the kitchen, until you're up.
